Adhesive Tapes are something that is highly needed in day to day life. From a personal use to commercial use, anywhere and anytime these tapes can be needed. Typically saying adhesive tapes are those which are variety of backing materials coated with glue. These are used generally to stick couple or more of papers or other materials.
Adhesive tapes can be of various types depending on the characteristics of the tapes.
- Water Activated Tapes: These are basically sticky when moistened.
- Heat Sensitive Tapes: These types of tapes are non-working until they are given heat source.
- Pressure Sensitive Tapes: These types of tapes are widely used by common people either personally or commercially. This kind of tapes is available in wide range of variety for several purposes.
- Industrial Tapes: Industrial adhesive tapes can be available in various forms such as cloth tapes, paper masking tapes, foil tapes, foam tapes and so on.
- Drywall Tapes: These are used as pressure sensitive tapes. Sometimes these are of cloth, paper or plastic material.
Other than these few mentioned types of adhesive tapes there are other types as well. Such as box sealing tapes, double sided tapes, floor marking and road marking tapes, surgical tapes and likes.
The need of adhesive tapes is increasing day by day in daily life due to the advantages they have.
- Light Weighting: These tapes are light weighted so easy to use.
- Prevention of Water Intrusion: These tapes are used to prevent water intrusion.
- Fastening: the biggest and most essential benefit of these tapes is they can fasten any device in a simple and easy way. From wires to any joints can be easily fastened by using these tapes.
These are the advantages of Adhesive Tapes due to which the tapes are highly in demand and people are using these tapes in daily life. Personally these tapes can be used to wrap papers, or seal any boxes and such. Along with personal uses, one can use them to assemble machine with wires, as they are useful to join wires with each other. In the electrical industry, gummed tapes can be used frequently as they do not conduct electricity. So there is no chance of electrical tension. In the manufacturer industry and other big industries glued tapes can be used frequently as these tapes can be used on any material like wood, steel, glass, plastic and so on.
